EDGE COMPANY

Here at The Edge Dance Company, we pride ourselves on providing all dancers with exceptional dance training and a positive learning experience. It is our wish for the Company to provide good lessons learned for its members. Lessons such as hard work and the rewards that come of it, learning to work together, commitment, time management, camaraderie and goal setting. Our philosophy on competition is to use it as a training tool for each dancer, to see other dancer’s styles and levels of accomplishment and to enhance performance skills.

Our goals are not about trophies our Company may or may not win, but rather motivating our dancers to be the best they can be. We will encourage good sportsmanship and respect for their fellow dancer and Studio. We will teach our dancers to love what they do and present a genuine performance that reflects their dedication and determination. It is our aspiration to instill passion and performing rather than merely the desire to compete and win awards. Being a part of our Company helps a dancer build their confidence while simultaneously becoming a well-rounded, well-trained performer.

Commitment Level:

The Edge Dance Company members are required to participate from September through Nationals, which is typically end of June/beginning of July, as well as a one-week Dance Intensive that runs either the 1st or 2nd week of August. This is a commitment. Participants are expected to fulfill this commitment and will be required to sign a parent/student agreement. Company attends 1 convention, 3 regional competitions and 1 national competition in the summer. They will take classes in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Technique and Acro.

Dancers 8/9 yr and under will dance approximately 4 class hours a week. Rehearsals are separate from this. Dancers 9/10 yr and over will dance approximately 7 class hours a week. Rehearsals are separate from this.

Dancers can add more classes to the required schedule and will be able to go onto pointe when ready. As well are encouraged to participate in the RPAC Holiday Celebration in December 2022.

Auditions for the 2023 EDGE company are June 14/15th- please email TheEdgeRPAC@gmail.com if you are interested or planning to audition.

***Dancers ages 5-7 we are looking for a few more girls to join our mini team with low commitment. Please email if you have a young dancer looking to join our team.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to audition time. 

Dancers should come in a leotard and tights, hair slicked in a bun.

Please bring turners and jazz shoes.
